National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is October 26, 2019

Safely dispose of your unused or unwanted medication on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Proper disposal of prescription medication is important for both public health and safety. Unused medications in the household are more likely to be stolen, misused and abused. Rates of prescription drug abuse are alarmingly high as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses. Studies show that most of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends. And Americans are now advised that flushing medications down the toilet poses serious health and safety hazards.
