Effective January 1, 2009, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will adopt the Medically Unlikely Edits (MUEs) to determine appropriate unit limitation for certain CPT and/or HCPCS codes submitted on the same day for the same patient. All claims submitted both on and after this date, will be subject to this edit, regardless of the date of service submitted on the claim.

To determine which codes fall in this category, you may view a listing of the over 8,000 MUEs, which are located on the CMS website at www.cms.hhs.gov /NationalCorrectCodInitEd.
