Printer Friendly Version Modifiers for Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
POLICYEffective April 1, 2011, all durable medical equipment (DME) claims will require a modifier specifying whether the equipment is for rental or purchase for codes E0001-E9999 or K0001-K9999. Modifier NU (New equipment/Purchase) or Modifier RR (Rental) must be used on all durable medical equipment (DME) claims. Durable medical equipment(DME) claims that are submitted without the appropriate modifier will be rejected. |
