Expansion of BCBSMS Allied Therapy Network

As part of our commitment to a healthier Mississippi, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi (BCBSMS) is proud to announce that effective August 1, 2009, the BCBSMS Allied Therapy Network will be expanded to include the following providers:

  • Licensed Certified Social Workers
  • Licensed Professional Counselors
  • Psychologists

If applicable to your Benefit Plan, covered services rendered by an Allied Provider will be reimbursed at network level benefits paid directly to the Network Provider. Non-network providers will be paid at a lower level benefit with payment being made directly to you. As such, please check the network status of your provider using the "find a provider" tab on this website. Please also refer to your Benefit Plan for information regarding co-pays and covered services related to these providers. You can access your Benefit Plan details by clicking on "View Your Benefits" in the left hand column.

How to Protect Yourself from Healthcare Fraud!

  • Safeguard your Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi ID card and Social Security Number.
  • Beware of "free" services, especially if you're asked to provide your insurance ID card. The services may not be free and could be fraudulently charged to you or your insurance company.
  • Compare your Explanation of Benefit statements to your medical bills to verify the services you received.
