be healthy. be involved.

Part of being healthy includes being actively involved in making a positive difference in your community. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi encourages employee community involvement through our Team Blue.

Team Blue employees support:

  • the American Heart Association's Start! Heart Walk
  • the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
  • Habitat for Humanity construction projects
  • and much, much more.

This work builds the community, as well as camaraderie and teamwork among employees. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi employees are often in leadership positions of these and other non-profit organizations. You will also see us involved in the American Red Cross, Mississippi Children's Home Society, Mississippi Make-A-Wish Foundation, Stewpot Community Services and many others.

We are a strong supporter of the arts, lending support to the Mississippi Opera, Mississippi Symphony, Mississippi Museum of Art, the Arts Alliance and the performing arts series at Thalia Mara Hall.

Another, vital way we are involved in improving the community is through the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation. This Foundation exists to help projects designed to create long-term, systemic, healthy improvements throughout the state.

Team Blue members report more than 16,000 hours of volunteer work each year. We encourage such work and recognize employees who take time to volunteer in the community. If you would like some help for your non-profit activity, let us know. We can promote your cause and encourage our team to help yours.
