With the highest percentage of students participating in the Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids' One-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, January 11, St. Anthony Catholic School enjoyed a spirited celebration at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi headquarters. The celebration was held on Monday, May 19 and students took part in Zumba, an energetic rendition of the Ice Cream and Cake dance, followed by a celebratory lap around the outdoor walking track. The celebration culminated with a check presentation, during which the school received $2,000 for its physical education program.
The Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids' One-Mile Fun Run enjoyed its highest participation yet, with more than 1,200 kids participating in 2014. The Get Ready to Run program will be expanded to other school districts in central Mississippi in the fall.
