Important Alert: National Provider Identifier (NPI) Update for 5/23/2008
On May 23, 2008, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will transition to using only NPI numbers to process your claims. It is very important that you file your claims with the correct combination of NPI numbers to ensure no disruption in claim payments to your office. See the general guidance provided below for more information.
Providers are Not Submitting Accurate NPI Numbers on Claims
There is an issue with providers who have obtained their NPI not submitting their NPI numbers in the correct fields on their claims. If this issue is not corrected, it will delay claims payments and may cause claims to be rejected. Because of this NPI accuracy issue, please review the guidelines below to ensure you submit your claims with the correct NPI number.
